CAFCL has numerous programs including:
Residential services - living alone or with a small group of people, CAFCL provides a community disability support worker to provide care, direction and supervision in all areas of daily living. Typically there is staff 16-24 hours a day.
Outreach services - CAFCL provides a few hours a day or week of staff support for an individual in the areas they specifically need help with (e.g. medical appointments, paying bills. The focus is helping individuals be as independent as possible.
Day options - This program is called the MORE program and it provides meaningful activities (may even included volunteering and employment) for individuals with disabilities during the day.
Healthy Families provides prevention programs aimed to help young women build healthy families by providing the support needed to create healthy homes. During home visitation mentors provide mothers and families who are expecting (prenatally) or have infants/children 0 -6 years of age with information
* Support in areas of positive-child relationships
* Increasing parenting knowledge
* Promoting family wellness fostering healthy child development
* Creating a safe stimulating home environment
* Support to access a network of formal and informal services and supports in the community.
As a further extension we provide long term support in response to the concern of substance use during pregnancy. Mentors work directly with participants offering personalized services for 3 years.
Kandu summer camp - an inclusive day camp for all children especially those with special health and developmental concerns.
Jobs4Youth - provides assistance for youth with special health and developmental concerns to obtain paid employment
Family support - provides assistance / advocacy to families who have children with special health and developmental concerns.
Education programs - sexuality, safety, advocacy, and other subjects are taught in a classroom or one on one session with individuals
Community Kitchens - providing instruction and healthy meals to families at risk
