Calgary, AlbertaThe Alberta Winds Ensemble Society is a registered charitable organization in Calgary. Our purpose is to build community among wind ensemble enthusiasts, to promote appreciation of wind ensemble music, to encourage the study of music, to enrich the culture of wind ensembles in Alberta, and to provide opportunities for musicians of various levels to meet and play together.
Alberta Winds was formed in 2003 in recognition of the strong tradition of wind music within Alberta, and in response to a growing need for a high-caliber Wind Ensemble in Calgary.
