PONOKA YOUTH CENTRE ASSOCIATION

The Ponoka Youth Centre/BGC of Wolf Creek is a non-profit organization that provides education and life-skill programming through positive mentoring in a safe and fun environment which empowers youth and families in achieving their full potential. It was initiated by a group of people who became aware of the need within this community to reach out to the youth population in providing positive programming and life-skill development opportunities. Operations began in July, 2001 and 16 years later it is definitely a success story in this community, with ongoing expansion and positive outcomes in meeting the needs of the youth of Ponoka. The Ponoka Youth Centre is about empowering youth through powerful relationships, positive programming and productive partnerships that lead to endless potential. The Ponoka Youth Centre offers 14 programs for youth ages 5-18 that resulted in 21,000 visits in 2016.
