The second Objective of the PVSBV is to promote health by providing trained support volunteers from the local communities to work alongside paid staff working with patients in the our hospice or in the community.
We also believe this approach will promote collaboration throughout the 9 communities in the Bow Valley we have as our service area - Stoney Nakoda First Nation, Kananaskis Settlement, Lac Des Arcs, Dead Man’s Flats, Exshaw, Canmore, Harvie Heights, Banff and Lake Louise – towards ensuring availability of high-quality, primary, rural, palliative and end-of-life care.
Organizations like ours depend on extensive member/volunteer support. In order for our membership to play an active role in furthering the goals of the PCSBV, we plan on developing comprehensive volunteer programs.
