Yurac Yacu Community Centre Project

In Yurac Yacu Peru, Sombrilla partners with Andean Alliance in a variety of social development projects. Yurac Yacu is a rural indigenous community high in the Andes mountains in Peru. The community struggles with a high level of poverty and migration of youth to the city. They are working towards building a more sustainable community through education and developing opportunities for employment. Presently we help to support a preschool program in the community and a women's knitting cooperative. We also provide support to run a seasonal cafe that provides training and employment for local women.
