• To provide food, clothing, and shelter to a vulnerable population "the elderly widows survivors of 1994 genocide in Rwanda" who have left with no one to care for them. • To ensure medical needs are met • To promote a social environment, reduce acute social isolation and enhance overall quality of life through fellowship, dignity, compassionate care and a healthy environment. • To build a senior facility in Rwanda that is centered around community and which reduces acute social isolation and enhances overall quality of life for our seniors. • We are committed to providing outstanding service, support and care with compassion and commitment through teamwork and best practices. • Our senior center will be a part of a greater community where we will welcome the services of volunteers from our community to share their stories which will promote friendships and bonds with our widowed seniors.
The goal of the Rwanda Seniors Life Centre (RSLC) is to provide food, shelter, clothing, and healthcare to Rwandan seniors that are survivors of the 1994 genocide. Traditionally in Rwandan culture, their families care for seniors. Due to the genocide in 1994, many widowed seniors have been left without a family or support system to care for them. Our aim is to promote physical activity, reduce loneliness and address overall health concerns.
